Houses under
review by the Structural Standards Commission
Distressed and vacant houses are a great source for finding listings, or
bargain shopping. These houses have grown up lawns, badly damaged
siding or roofs, and are neglected by their current owners.
You may buy the property from the owner at a discount and
make the repairs. (Contact the structural Standards Commission
or the owner for information on repairs (SS Commission:
806-775-2118)). In many cases, taxes also need to be settled
with the City (contact Cindy Buxkemper to discuss taxes due at 744-5091).
SSC meets on the 2nd Tuesday of Each month. Sub-standard structure
agendas are announced on the Friday/Saturday before the first 1st Tuesday of
Each month.
